Mission

At KidsCOOK productions, we believe that food is about more than just eating – it's about family, tradition, community, identity, storytelling and accessibility to healthy and affordable food. We work closely with schools, non-profit organizations, government and medical organizations, academics, policy makers, physicians, chefs, students and teachers, to help young teens create a healthy, and balanced relationship with food and exercise. Through support to non-profit arm Ingredients for Education/Filmmaker's Collaborative (501c3), we are able to provide children and their families with the tools, inspiration and education to make healthier choices at no cost.

Over 9 million children in the US today are considered obese and face the prospect of experiencing illnesses that are highly correlated with being overweight and/or obese. Digital technologies present an opportunity for filmmakers like us to create new educational content for children who spend up to 7 hours per day interacting on some type of media device.

Our goal is to harness technology to foster lifelong healthy habits, leadership and self-efficacy at a time when this intervention can hugely influence childhood development in a positive direction.

The KickinNutrition.TV recipe is simple. We utilize comedy, relatable story-lines, hip music, and engaging, research-based, peer-to-peer nutrition education that is combined with interactive technologies to empower young teens to make healthy choices. By providing the tools for formative and interactive learning, KIckinNutrition.TV can impact the fast-paced lives of young people and their families while encouraging community and friendships.

Our Expertise:

The KickinNutrition.TV team includes seasoned television executives, digital education, health and nutrition experts who are passionate about reversing the global trends in childhood obesity. With the help of an expert advisory board, that includes Dr. Paula Quatromoni of Boston University and Dr. Walter Willett from Harvard School of Public Health, we draw upon our collective experiences to create an innovative, media-rich, learning platform for the digital age.

What People Are Saying:

"The aggressive promotion of junk foods and beverages to America’s children by the food and beverage industry is creating a generation that will experience massive suffering and premature death. KickinKitchen.TV plays a key role in the fight against childhood obesity within the digital media arena.”

-Dr. Walter Willett, Fredrick John Stare Professor of Epidemiology and Nutrition Chair, Department of Nutrition – Harvard School of Public Health
